Valentine's Day on a Budget: 14 Creative Ideas

Make A Nice Steak Dinner

I love making dinner feel special. There’s something so satisfying about cooking a restaurant quality meal at home. Buy your favorite cut of steaks, your favorite veggies, and some potatoes for a classic, all American meal that you and your valentine will love.

Plan For A Picnic Outdoors

If the weather’s nice, this could be a great time! Pack your favorite sandwiches, easy snacks, and drinks. Grab a warm and cozy blanket and make sure your phone is fully charged so you can queue up your best playlist. Don’t forget your Bluetooth speaker!

Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries

I used to splurge on fancy chocolate covered strawberries from high end shops, but lately, my chocolate cravings have been more than just an occasional treat. So, I started making my own, dipping almonds, walnuts, and of course, strawberries in melted chocolate for a less processed, homemade sweet fix. This Valentine’s Day, I’m finding the biggest, juiciest strawberries and dipping them in milk chocolate. This is a two ingredient recipe and could be an activity for the whole family to participate in or just you and your valentine. I prefer milk chocolate chips but you can customize it to your taste. This is so budget friendly and delicious, you can make a dozen chocolate covered strawberries for less than $20!

Watch The Sun Rise Or The Sun Set

This is activity that you should not overthink. Buy a bottle of your favorite sparkling or alcoholic beverage, and head to the nearest rooftop, porch, deck, park, or even hop in the car and enjoy the sunrise or sunset with your valentine.

Buy Your Valentine Flowers And A Teddy Bear

No matter what anyone says, I believe you cant go wrong with gifting your valentine some flowers and a teddy bear on love day. It's a classic gift that still goes appreciated in my book.

Wear Pink Or Red

This is such a good way to get in on the valentines day fun without a ton of effort. Plus you will get a lot of compliments!

Bake A Cake Or Cupcakes And Add Pink Frosting

Keep it simple! Just head to the grocery store, grab your favorite cake mix, frosting, and some fun sprinkles. In about an hour, you’ll have a festive Valentine’s Day cake ready to share. It’s perfect for families, couples, or even a sweet treat to bring to work or school!

Have A Valentines Day Party

Keep it budget friendly with a BYOB setup! Grab a few bags of chips, or ask everyone to bring a snack to share. The vibe is all about what you make it, throw on some good music, have some snacks, and set up a fun game like spades or Jenga. Perfect for families, couples, and friends looking for a laid back good time.

DJ Your Own Dance Party

People don’t realize how much fun it can be to transform your space into a lounge for the night. Become a DJ for a romantic night in or a ratchet dance party at home. Either way, let loose, vibe in your own space, and dance the night away with your valentine or favorite people. Throw on some old school jams, blast some one hit wonders, sprinkle in some slow jams. You set the atmosphere and mood without the cover fee.

Play Truth Or Dare

Nothing gets any party started faster than truth or dare. You can play it with your significant other, friends or make it really interesting and play it with strangers you meet at the bar!

Take Your Valentine To Meet Your Parents

What better way to show you’re serious about your relationship than introducing them to your parents? And if you do it on Valentine’s Day, that’s super sweet. And it sends a message to everyone that your taking things up a notch. It will make the day even more meaningful.

Make It A Movie Night

Pop some popcorn, grab the soda's, get the candy. You can also order the adorable trays from movie night starter packs from Amazon or pick up the large popcorn containers from the dollar store. Just make it cute, put your phone on do not disturb and actually watch the movie.

Do A Couples Workout

If you don't work out regularly with your partner, try an early morning workout to kick off the day or an evening work out to wind down together. Working out is not always fun but doing it with your partner on Valentines day is super cute and motivating.

Wear Lingerie

Wearing lingerie for your partner can be really romantic so if that's your thing or you want to try something new, Valentines Day would be appropriate. There's also something just as special about wearing it for yourself. Treat yourself to a gorgeous silk, lace embroidered or suede robe. Some other ideas are a cover up, slip dress, matching silk pajamas which come in pants or shorts, or just something that makes you feel confident, elegant, and sexy. Whatever you choose, make it something you truly love and feel amazing in.

Hope this helps! If you try any of these, let me know, or tag me if you share it! I’d love to see.

XOXO
